Miniphile rugs are stitched with pure sik thread on 20 count cotton Stramin canvas. This combination of stitch and fine canvas produces a rug that is thin, flat and non-distorting.

The stitches used are simple - Cross-Stitch, Ghiordes Knot Stitch for the fringe and Herringbone Stitch to finish the rug. Some rugs have added detail in the form of Holbein Stitch (also known as Double Running Stitch).

The rugs are available finished to special order or as kits. The kits contain all materials required except scissors and a thimble, and have complete instructions with tips and hints for possible pitfalls.
